Chords for Chordoma Jazz At The Lyric

Chords for Chordoma Jazz at the Lyric
Left to right: Two magnificent divas, Liz Rosa and Jackie Richardson.

On the second part of the program, a Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Dr. Janis Sarra in recognition of her many decades of stellar contributions to the Canadian and international insolvency and restructuring community.

The second musical set got started with the band’s great interpretation of Toninho Horta’s composition Beijo Partido. Right after Chico Pinheiro performed his own composition Boca de Siri, followed by another Howie Silverman’s composition, Another Time Perhaps. Jackie Richardson came back on stage to sing That Old Black Magic, segueing into a moving rendition of Sting’s composition Fragile, one of the many highlights of the evening in which Liz Rosa joined Jackie with her seductive voice. A delightful duet indeed.

André Mehmari and Chico Pinheiro joined the band again for a terrific rendition of Coisa Feita, a song by one of the most beloved Brasilian musicians, João Bosco. And then, as the concert was coming to an end, Mr. Mehmari performed one of his own compositions, Lagoa da Conceição, which was followed by Recharge, another Howie Silverman’s composition.

Kudos to Mr. Steven Golick and the Canadian Chordoma Network, Music Producers Howie Silverman and Memo Acevedo, all the musicians, the event team, the volunteers, the staff, management and crew of the Toronto Centre for the Arts and all those who participated in the successful organization of this amazing event.
