Carlos Henriquez Celebrates Mario Bauzá at Dizzy’s Club

Grammy-nominated bassist and composer Carlos Henriquez celebrates the life and artistry of era-defining instrumentalist and band leader Mario Bauzá. Credited by many musicians and historians as the first artist to push clave in new directions, the prolific big band leader from Havana enjoyed pivotal associations with Chick Webb, Dizzy Gillespie, and Tito Puente. Henriquez interprets Bauzá’s canon with buoyant interplay, melodicism, and energetic performance.
